Lorraine's Background and Studies
Someone asked me recently what I've done to study personal development and psychic ability.
I have had a long and cherished history of being a seeker and learner.
I attended the Presbyterian church as a young child and was baptized there. Later I also attended the Nazarene church where I joined the youth group. Ultimately I was confirmed at the Lutheran church where my family attended.
In my teens, I met Dr. Kubler-Ross when she was speaking in Nevada City, California. I had the opportunity to interview her for an article in our high school news paper. She was the author of the amazing book On Death And Dying. Kubler-Ross studied dying children and what they saw and knew about death. Kubler-Ross strongly believed there was life after death. My meeting with her left a very strong impression about what happened once someone died. She had a remarkable energy. She was the first person to identify the five stages of grief...denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
I completed the EST training in 1981. I can say I learned a lot about how the mind works, how you manifest, and why it's not a good idea to follow and idealize just one leader of a group.
I graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a major in Development Studies. I focused on psychology, sociology, communication, journalism and city planning.
In 1989, while working as a TV anchor, I studied with Tanha Luvass, a protege of author Shakti Gawain (Living in the Light), in Chico, CA. I also attended a seminar with Shakti Gawain in the Sacramento area around that time as well. It was then that I felt an energy literally slam me against a wall outside of our TV station and tell me I would be a spiritual leader. Let me just tell you, it really shook me. At the time I was interested in spiritual concepts, but I was also pretty steeped in the news business, and very career-driven.
However, later, I regularly attended A Course In Miracles talks in Los Angeles given by Marianne Williamson , author of A Return to Love. I went to a talk and learning opportunity given by Lynn Andrews, Author of Medicine Woman in Los Angeles. I also received a certificate for Science of Mind I coursework I completed in Chico, CA and received a certificate for Science of Mind II which I completed in Pasadena, CA. Those classes were were offered by the Church of Religious Science, teaching how mind and spirit work together.
I spent 15 years working in television news as a reporter, anchor, producer, and ultimately an investigative reporter. I've won 6 Emmy awards for teamwork in news. I learned to meditate, went more deeply into spiritual teachings, and quit working in news.
In 2001, I worked on a video project with Minnesota psychics Michael and Echo Bodine. Within six months, I myself began to have comprehensive psychic experiences and abilities, including seeing ghosts, hearing from spirits, knowing events would transpire, and telepathy. Echo generously explained a lot of basics to me and mentored me through my early psychic years. I have attended the Spiritualist Church in Harmony Grove, CA and have completed several 2-day comprehensive courses on both the Chakras and Mediumship. I was also Reiki 1 certified by Reiki Master Miranda Barrett in Studio City, CA in 2003.
I have read hundreds of books about mediumship, spiritual development, sobriety, abstinence, co-dependence, grief, intimacy, child-rearing, crystals and amulets. I have read the entire Bible.
I am currently getting my MSW (master's in social work).
In addition, I am married to a terrific man and have three amazing children. We live a faith-centered life filled with humor, love, and fun.
Finally, I spend many hours simply communing with nature. I grew up near Mount Shasta, which is an extremely spiritual setting. I have climbed to the peak of the mountain twice (using crampons) and have spent countless hours on the mountain enjoying its spiritual essence. We have a cabin in the woods of northern California that allows us to enjoy solitude.
By the Grace of God, I have been clean and sober for 32 years. I believe that sobriety helps lend clarity to the work that I do.
I currenlty lead an investigative news team
When I began my career as a reporter, I was taught that it was our job as journalists to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Today, I believe that is also my job as an intuitive.
I hope this helps you understand my background a little better.
Blessings, Lorraine
